Just 10 minutes from downtown Seattle, the Woodland Park Zoo is considered home to over 1,100 animals! This award winning zoo prides itself on mimicking natural habitats not only to benefit their animals, but to also make their guests feel like they have been transported. Visitors will enjoy the sights of the exhibits while walking through lush greenery and flora. These beautiful plants are not just for looks, they also provide shelter to many of the animals.

The Woodland Park Zoo accommodates mammals, reptiles & amphibians, plants, invertebrates, and birds. One of the numerous exhibits at the Woodland Park Zoo is the Tropical Rainforest Dome; guests are able to see free flying birds navigate through the exotic trees. Another popular spot is the Northern Trail Taiga Shelter. This shelter contains viewing areas to see the grizzly bears, arctic foxes, and otters. Also, be sure to make Zoomazium a must see during your time here! The Zoomazium is an indoor play area for children of all ages. Children are also able to take part in the daily penguin feeding!

After admiring the many specimens and playing in the Zoomazium grab a bite to eat at the Rain Forest Food Pavilion. This indoor food court style dining area provides healthy choices, kid friendly meals, and fun smoothie drinks. You could also eat local organic products from sustainable farms and fisheries at the Pacific Blue Chowder House.
